I remember being on holiday in Florida in 1998 and I think I was paying about $1 a US Galllon where it was costing me 4 or 5 times the price in the UK back then,
You guys got it cheap still in the US, its more than $9 a US Gallon for standard unleaded in the UK and more than $9.60 for a US Gallon for Diesel.
I have been somewhat been outraged by the sheer size and consumption of gas by big US cars or even midsize and intermdeiate. It has always been inevitable at some point due to the greed of businessmen (including President Bush who has a large hand in Oil!), higher consumtion around the world, war and reduced supply for various reasons that prices will go up.
So why is it that US turned a blind eye to climate change but is now dancing up and down because they cant afford to run their cars that consume too much gas in the first place, even though prices go up.
Americans should have been making and buying more fuel effecient cars a long time ago but the government has ****** you up (without a decent public transport network) and the oil companies are rubbing their hands.
For me, my car does about 40-55 mpg depending on how I drive. Its not a small car by UK standards, its actually an estate car so I can put more in the trunk.
Like everyone else, I have the choice to change my car to an even more fuel efficient model (yes we do have them over here that can do upto 70 mpg) or find alternate arrangements or solutions.
So what is reduculous I ask, the price of your gas or the size of your car in comparison to the rest of the world?!

Not high enough yet in NorCal. About 4.45, I can't wait until it goes up to 8.00!!!!! Americans are too addicted to oil, time to buy a bike, and it will pay for itself in no time.

Everyone that buys gas or fuel is outraged, especially when there is no gas/fuel shortage, and yes it is hyper-inflation.

Only Presidential candidate Ron Paul understands how to fix this mess.

But here's a hint:

Silver is now about $18.19 per ounce.
A pre 1964 American quarter contains about 5.625 grams of Silver, the Silver content comes out to be worth $3.29 almost enough for a gallon of gas. Add in a pre 1964 American dime which today contains $1.31 worth of Silver, and we get $4.60.

Which means somewhere between .30 and .31 cents of REAL, Constitutionally mandated money { Silver & Gold } buys a gallon of gasoline.

The Federal Reserve is responsible for this, by injecting way too many unbacked dollars into the economy.

DOES EVERYONE READING NOW KNOW WHY RON PAUL WANTS TO ABOLISH THE Fed???.....And use competing currencies, which would be a form of Silver & Gold!
Thanks for the question.

If you are a liberal you deserve it because liberals have blocked oil production every time they could and have been saying for years that gas is too cheap in America. Now that liberals have got what they have been asking for, even they **** it. Let that be a lesson for us all...

I think no, the end of the world is not so close.
But certainly the world is undergoing changes regarding weather, social setups, economy and technology at a much faster rate than in the past.
Keep remembering that word has survived the first and the second big wars.

These things are just a major change in the stucture of our society showing itself. It will be a good thing for you I think because it will bring many new and wonderful things. New fuels and inventions. Things are moving faster than ever before and you are at the beginning of a new era. Don't fear the future. Put it to use.
